Nestled just a stone's throw from Cenote Zaci, Zazil-Naj offers intriguing value for the budget-conscious traveler. With eight impeccably styled rooms, this small hotel doesn’t flaunt luxury but rather embraces a stylish yet functional aesthetic. During my recent stay, I enjoyed the air conditioning, which performed well, providing a welcome sanctuary from the Valladolid heat. For under $25 a night, it’s a fantastic find that rivals much pricier accommodations. The outdoor swimming pool area, modest but inviting, and a small terrace provided a nice spot to unwind. It’s worth noting that English is minimally spoken, so being familiar with basic Spanish can enhance your experience. While the amenities included a mini-bar and flat-screen TV, the bathroom water pressure was average. The absence of interior locks on the doors raised a bit of concern, yet the overall stay felt secure. If you're exploring Valladolid, Zazil-Naj strikes a fair balance between cost and comfort without excessive frills. I’d gladly return, armed with more Spanish, of course!
